Incident on the Mexican United States’ border

I told the story to my Professor S about how I was stopped by officials when I tried to fly back from Mexico City to New York. How all my documents (my Chinese passport, my visa, my prove of being a full-time student) turned blank. Without the information on these document, my identity cannot be verified. Even though I was able to prove the authenticity of these government issues documents, I wasn’t allowed to enter the country.
I was eventually let go and allowed to enter the United States after the police seperate a portrait of a young Mexican woman from my passport and other documents. I didn’t take that film slide from a store in Condesa, Mexico City. I was hoping to take the portrait with me, but the US Custom officials refused my request.
