		<description>&#38;nbsp;home
Since 2022, I have been searching for sites that allow me to perform the act of (national) border crossing without being documented by the States’ officals and without showing passport and/or visa.&#38;nbsp;
Some sites are designed to create ambiguities in border, some are results of the inability to map the nature, and some are temporarily overlooked by the border patrol.&#38;nbsp;

	Description

Beyond the Niagara Falls Observation Point on Goat Island, United States. There is a point of the Island located on the Canadian side. The observation point was closed due to wind the day I visited.

	Right Next to Route 8 in California, the highway is parallel to the US-Maxican Border, there’s less than 500m inbetween. I threw a rock to the Mexican side.

	2022/11/26
	(45.0057927, -72.0976362)
	Inside the Haskell Free Library and Opear House constructed intentionally on the US-Canadian Border. The border is marked by a thin black line in the middle of the building.

	(45.0057678, -72.097324)

	The parking lot of Haskell free Library and Opera House is also on the border. The border is marked by several orange poles that has English on the US side saying UNITED STATES AND CANADA, French on the Canadian side saying ÉTATS-UNIS ET CANADA.

	On top of a mountain in El Paso, the wind was gusty and the sun was strong. I sneezed multiple times, I anticipate the sneezes landed there.2023/06/16
	(31.272833, -105.852757)

	Late night near Fort Hancock, behind a single line of trees and a lonely mansion. Too dark to see.

	Mapping the Center for the Arts, Wesleyan University
(2022)
	The solid line is the original map of the Center for the Arts, Wesleyan University. The gray line is the path rotated in -1.66 degree. The 1.66 degree is the difference in latitudes between Beijing, China and Middletown, Connecticut, United States.

Performed by my friend Xingyan Guo, a Chinese community organizer doing political works through artistic approach in the United States. Xingyan walked in the gray path guided by 12 identical black poles I installed beforehand at each intersection of the path. She decided the direction, speed and sequence.

	A Cross-Pacific Effect (2022)
	Selected text accompanying Chinese American immigrant artifacts. These text was included in the installation held by structures made up with same chemical materials as human bone: calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, citric acid, water, and gelatin.
In 1906, Nge Shee Lee packed her clothes and belongings in this trunk and left China for America. It was a difficult trip. She slept next to the noisy engine room; arriving tired and sick in San Francisco she was met by the devastating 1906 earthquake. After she was rescued by an unidentified American firefighter. Nge Shee then made her way alone by train across Canada to New York where she rejoined her husband.
In 1908, Mei Li Chun ate this jar of embossed bean cake for breakfast, she bought it from the Quong Yuen Sing &#38;amp; Co. in San Francisco, California. As the first thing she ate in America, she had diarrhea for two weeks, the jar was later given to an unidentified American doctor for examination.
The 1876 United States silver trade dollar was passed from Fen Lee to an unidentified young American merchant in exchange for a bottle of milk for her sick daughter. Not knowing English. She stamped the silver coin three times with "chopmarks" to prove the coin was real silver.
The 1905 reward poster of Hai Hong Ching, also known as Hai Hong Zhang, who was wanted for the murder of an unidentified American Sheriff. The warrant described her eyes in a wrong way so she was never arrested for the murder. It wrote: left eye more open than the right. She died from breast cancer at an old age.

	9 of 88 (2022)
	Transcription of a fragment of an unpublic interview with Kurt “Mountain Man” Steiner. Date unavailable.

KS: How did I get involved in the stone skipping world? That’s a good question because it’s all a coincidence. I never took it seriously, My father taught me to skip when I was 3 years old on the Connecticut River. I saw him pick up a little rock and kind of whip it sidearm fashion, I was trying to replicate what my father did. I usually got two skips max. Yeah, it’s embarrassing to admit that. Stone skipping was just a fun thing to do to kill some times.

February 7th, 2010, about eleven in the morning, the river was still very foggy. They were building this power plant on the other side of the river, they just finished constructing two towers but I could barely see them. I threw my stones about 90 degrees into the water, far from the 20 degrees magic angle, and it couldn’t sink, it kept jumping on the river, it couldn’t stop, I kept throwing stones in different shapes. I rolled one huge boulder to the side of the river, so heavy that I couldn’t even lift it up. [gasp] It was still fucking skipping across, oh man!

Immediately I heard this huge explosion, I looked up and I saw the flames and smoke. Ohh, it was devastating, I must have passed out after I got hit by the blast of sound, when I woke up I found myself lying next to the water, all my clothes were soaking wet. I couldn’t tell whether I was being rescued and pulled out of the Connecticut River or the water splashed on me.
Stones stopped sinking in my hand after that day, so I went professional the next year to earn some money. First I competed in some regional matches and slowly went international, well then you probably know everything after that.
